Probably the best large(ish) live venue in Brighton, Concorde2 has hosted many of the top bands visiting Brighton in recent years. The roll call of past gigs includes such luminaries as Franz Ferdinand and the Scissor Sisters.
The venue itself is pretty perfect for small events, the main room can hold up to 540 people, so every event will feel small and intimate, and the long thin nature of the room ensures almost everyone, paradoxically, gets the feel of being close to the front. Certainly the dimensions of the room do mean that everyone can enjoy the booming acoustics.
If you don’t want to get involved in all the sweaty stuff at the front, it’s also easily possible to enjoy the music from a more relaxed position at the main bar, again the layout of the venue allows you to step back from the throng and still have a good view and more importantly enjoy the sound.
