Dominique Noiret is Brighton's femme fatale of country music. Stunningly beautiful, with a dark and impassive onstage aura, she is possessed of a deep, emotive voice and writes songs of heartbreak and revenge set to classic country melodies and accelerating rockabilly rhythms.

Her band has passed through several line-up changes but currently includes Mark Carew, the ever-smiling upright bassist of Hot Knives and Long Tall Texans fame, and has included Jason Pegg of Clearlake on guitar. Their recorded output since their first appearance in 2002 has been limited to the Black Leather EP, although an album has been recorded and awaits release.

Noiret's star quality is palpable and she has recently appeared in a 'country noir' road movie, The Road to Nod, which is due for release in 2007. Well recognised locally, it is surely only a matter of time before the heavy gravity of her dark star draws national attention.
