Artist: Republic Of Heaven

Formed in Brighton 18 months ago, Republic Of Heaven are guitarists Sandeman and Duffy, bassist Holmberg and drummer Hammond.

The band spent last year gigging regularly in the south of England, and have already built up a reputation for spectacular live performances. Their new EP has been recorded and pressed in Brighton and is available to buy through their website http://www.republicofheaven.com, or downloadable from iTunes.

 

In Phillip Pullmans trilogy His Dark Materials, the Republic Of Heaven refers to the idea that men must build their happiness in the present, and that the Church's emphasis on the afterlife is a diversion to repress the common man.

Epic soaring guitars, delicate and beautiful melodies, driving and dramatic rhythms. This is music from another time and place, and like nothing you've ever heard before.
