Featured Venue

Concorde 2

Probably the best large(ish) live venue in Brighton, Concorde2 has hosted many of the top bands visiting Brighton in recent years.  The roll call of past gigs includes such luminaries as Franz Ferdinand and the Scissor Sisters.

OK

It's been quiet around here,  but there's a reason.  A combination of technical problems, workload and new nights have meant we've all been very busy.  Rollo Kim has got over some technicial issues to throw together an excellent review of Ladies Night @ The Church  whilst the lovely Juliet is launching a new night at the Pav Tav on Sunday, it promised to be tops, so get along there.

More Reviews,  More Music

Juliet has been out and about enjoying the live music scene here in sunny Brighton, she was at Inertia on the 23rd and at Herberts Palace on the 24th.  Read her reviews below.  She was also playing this week at the sanctuary.  And I hope you're all taking the opportunity to catch our current featured Band.  Their tracks on here sound top.

Cooper Temple Clause

Do you know, I never knew that there is an old lift in Concorde2.  Hydraulic and everything.  Amazing what you learn in the weirdest places.  Like Rollo Kim's brilliant review of last week's Cooper Temple Clause gig.   I heard it was fantastic, from various sources.  Did you know Robert Smith of the Cure turned up as well.  More pointless factoids.  There you go.

Don't ya love it when you hear a truly top new band.

I had that little stroke of fortune on Thursday night thanks to the nice folks down at Concorde2.  Early Morning Soundtrack are just amazing.  I'm hoping that they'll give us some MP3's to get on here soon, but in the meantime there's a review of their gig and my strong advice to catch them live wherever they may play next.

Who are we?

BrightonGigScene aims to be the best, most authoritive Live Music listing and "what's on" site for Brighton, Hove and the surrounding areas.  More importantly there is the ability for Bands from the local area, and further around to upload their music so prospective fans can get an idea what the music is like.  We provide streaming MP3 ability so you can hear the band, but not steal the music :-), not that you would. Obviously. We also provide Gig reviews, pre-views, Venue reviews and ratings ability.  Our What's on listings come straight from the people that matter, the venues and artists.  We're also not confined to single Genre stuff, it's about all live music, wether that be Rock or Jazz, Classical or Folk.

Ultimately its about the music, the gig's, the artists and the bands.  And just enjoying it.  So check the listings and "What's on" section to the right, or browse the music above.
